Here in Helena, Montana, we have developed an complete community that dwells in the conservatively created tumbleweed home designs. Now these new houses are a giant change from what we as Americans have become comfortable to. Instead of 3 and 4,000 square foot homes, what we have here is closer to 3, or 400 square foot.
Now, I know what your thinking, how in the world do you exist in that? Well, the solution was cheap loft beds, vertical showers, microwave ovens, tiny stoves, small refrigerators, micro, small, and more micro. We have found that in these economic times, and in comparison to other global standards, these tinier options are a real solution. The loft beds, create a large amount of room.
Some of these designs come with the popular Murphy bed options, but the Morphy’s don’t double as workable spaces, in most cases. I couldn’t promote these things, unless I had tried them myself, so for one years, I lived in the 250sq foot model. Now, granted, I’m a single guy, and I have been a bachelor for the past four years, but it really wasn’t that uncomfortable at all. I had this really unique kids loft bed, and just about every add on available, and I was good.
My only trouble, was the wind. When the winds picked up to about 50, or 60 miles an hour, or better, it was a bit unsettling, but apart from that, I rather enjoyed it! Now when you begin thinking about a family, you can consider the roomier models, and also consider connecting them together, kind of like Legos.
